Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Ji Guobiao, Yao Mu, Jiang Shicheng, director of China Industrial Textiles Association, Zhu Minru and vice chairman Li Lingshen attended the forum.

The reason why the academicians' high-level forum is concerned about filtering materials and filtering industry is increasingly becoming an environmental friendly factor, and the relevance between filtering industry and national economic development is increasing.

It is understood that with the development of industry and population expansion, the environment we live in, such as air and water sources, are seriously polluted.

In the past 20 years, industrial dust emissions have increased year by year. The amount of thermal pollutants discharged by the thermal power industry has increased by 272.4%. The air pollution loss caused by industrial waste gas (water) and automobile exhaust emissions is equivalent to 3%~7% of GDP. The treatment of waste water and waste gas has reached an urgent task.

With the increase of national pollution control, China's filtration industry has made considerable progress in recent years.

In 2009, the output of various filter materials in China reached 483 thousand tons, and it is expected to exceed 500 thousand tons in 2010.

At present, the research and development of new filtration materials are in full swing. A number of high performance and high temperature resistant fibers, such as polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), polyimide (P84), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), glass fiber and basalt fiber, have been commercialization.

However, some experts pointed out at the forum that the overall equipment level of China's filtration industry is not high, small scale production lines are more, products are not good and bad, and there is a vicious competition in the market.

In addition, raw materials for high temperature filter materials still rely on imports. There is a gap between the technology level and product quality of high performance fibers and abroad. These problems affect the healthy development of the filtration industry.

On the forum, experts and representatives of enterprises and institutions participating in the forum discussed how to speed up the development of China's filtering industry and shorten the gap with developed countries, and prospected the development prospects of the filtration industry.

Participants believe that energy saving and emission reduction will be an important entry point in the development of filtration industry during the "12th Five-Year" period.

In the next 10 to 20 years, China will become the fastest growing country in the world, with an annual growth rate of more than 20%.

Filter material is one of the important materials for air pollution control, and its industrial textiles will have an opportunity of rapid development.
